The term learning object has many interpretations. Our concept is that learning objects are digital resources designed to show a concept or a relationship. (More information: The Instructional Use of Learning Objects.) The aim is to present Science ideas in an interactive visual medium. Simplicity is the key; our learning objects illustrate an idea or relationship in a way that can't be done in a textbook or on a whiteboard. Students are encouraged to investigate these relationships & ask questions based on their experience.

The use of Flash as the medium for learning objects is an effective solution for distribution. Flash files can be easily accessed via a free web-browser based plug-in on virtually any operating system. The files are small & can be accessed online or offline.
